Project: Help Lionel Trains Expand Its Brand
As part of an expansive marketing strategy, Lionel trains set out to develop a line of train-centric children's books. With the help of a New York literary agent they arranged a series of meetings with publishers to explore partnerships. I was asked to polish their PowerPoint presentation culling the most salient elements of branding, marketing and research. Instead, I suggested putting their pitch in the format of an aspirational 32-page children's book, which would demonstrate their commitment to the initiative, reinforce their brand strength, and provide a memorable calling card.
